Renovace parketTournament History

Named after its main partner Budweiser Budvar, the Budweiser Cup has in its 18 years history hosted teams from all around the world.

The Budweiser team, however, was established 22 years ago, when the ice hockey veterans participated in the tournament in Engelberg, Switzerland. This team was founded by Jerry Krupicka and the legendary Czechoslovak hockey player Richard Farda and former player and team manager Andrej Janovjak from Basel.

Jerry had been a player in Brno and Litvinov before he emigrated in a very young age to Canada and later to Switzerland. Today he is a long-standing sales representative of Budweiser Budvar, Switzerland.

Many of the former Czechoslovakia National Team members later joined the team. For example: Holík's brothers, Vaclav Nedomansky, Milan Chalupa, Jiri Hrdina, Pavel Richter, Eda Novak, Ivan Hlinka, Frantisek Kaberle. Other famous names who participated in the tournament, traditionally held in Mariánské Lázně, include: Jiří Bubla, Frantiąek Kučera, Radoslav Svoboda, Jaroslav Benák, Oldřich Válek, Bohuslav Ebermann, Richard ®emlička and others...
